Summary

Amends the:

Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918
to: prohibit foreign persons and entities from authorising electoral communications and from fundraising or directly incurring electoral expenditure in a financial year equal to or more than $1000; and make technical amendments; and
Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918
and
Referendum (Machinery Provisions) Act 1984
to increase the penalty for the offence of misleading or deceiving an elector in relation to the casting of a vote.
